Q: Can you change a costume jewelry gold necklace silver?
There is a costume jewelry necklace I want, but it is gold and I need it in silver. Is there a way to change the color to silver? Maybe spray paint or a paint for jewelry? Thanks.

A: I don’t know about changing a gold to silver. You can try to find a handcraft jewelry designer to see if they can ‘replicate’ the look to a similar design in the sterling silver metal.

Q: how to make jewelry cleaner for a silver and torquise necklace?

Q: how do u clean silver necklace without jewelry clean?
my necklace is starting to tarnish real bad

A: Get a pan from your kitchen. Line it with aluminum foil. Boil water in a kettle.

Put your necklace in the aluminum lined pan, and sprinkle in baking soda. Carefully pour the hot water in. Watch the tarnish stick to the foil.

Q: How do I cleanse a piece of Silver Jewelry? I have a necklace that makes me sick every time I wear it.?

A: A jewelry store will most gladly sell you a solution for your silver. But, beware! The necklace might have a curse on it.

Q: Would a Handbag with gold accents look good with silver jewelry?
I have a coach bag and it’s like white with like bronze-ish and brown C’s and gold hooks(as in the things attaching the strap to the actual bag). But the thing is I only wear silver jewelry,so if I wear that handbag and silver bracelets and a silver necklace would I look totally odd?or would it look alright?

Also I’m wearing a colorful top would that look good with the bag too?

A: Not mixing metals is an outdated fashion rule, just like matching your bag and your shoes. I think that it would look great, it all comes down to how do you feel about it. You need to be confident when you step out the door.

xoxoxo

Q: Where can I buy online pieces of silver jewelry(necklaces) as sold in Mexico (Cancun) jewelry stores?
I saw pieces on my recent trip that I didn’t buy and cannot find anything like them on any google search engines. The pieces are necklaces that are sterling silver only ( no stones) and very bold fashion styles. Specifically the hammered large ovals/circle pieces.

A: try QVC

Q: Could wearing fake jewelry such as silver rings, necklaces can cause allery or headache?
In my case, when I am wearing fake rings, it cause itchiness on my finger. In your case, could wearing fake jewelry such as silver rings, necklaces can cause allery or headache? What you should do to remove that allery?

A: Silver is not fake, by the way. Try taking off the jewelry when washing and thoroughly drying your hands and neck. It is more likely to be an allergy to some cleanser or to a base metal mixed with the silver. If the ring is patterned, going to a jeweler and have it cleaned may also help. “Stuff” that may cause a reaction.can get trapped in the pattern. It doesn’t take a lot of it either.

Q: Is it ok to wear a Purse with gold metal with silver jewelry?
Im getting on a plane tonight and ill be wearing dark jeans an olive green shirt, dark brown sandles/darkbrown and silver necklace and silver hoop earings…………but my carry on is a dark red, and it has gold metal (not a lot)…will I mismatch?

A: No i think it would be fine as long as u carry it well. But if your Purse had some silver on it, it would have looked much better.

I’m looking to buy a fine silver (.999) necklace online. I would prefer to buy from a more reputable company (so no eBay, please). Can someone please recommend a good website to buy fine silver jewelry from? Thank you so much! =]

A: I recently purchased some simple silver jewelry for my wife online at http://www.decoetcjewelry.com. I was a little unsure at first but the prices were excellent and I received my order promptly. While I dont order jewelry often, I do plan to go back.

Q: Is there any way to turn silver colored jewelry gold?
I have a silver necklace that I’d like to turn gold, is there any way I can do that? It’s not real silver or anything, just silver colored metal.

A: Have it gold plated. Sometimes you can sometimes find a vocational or tech college , and the students will do it free for a grade, class project or something like that. I had my car painted for free. I let students do it at a vocational school, and they did an excellent job, and more important i helped them by providing a car for their class project.

Q: What can I clean my sterling silver jewelry with?
Besides jewelery cleaner which I am out of. I am wearing a silver toggle necklace tomorrow and it’s real, and a little dirty. How can I safely clean it?

A: If it has tarnish you want to remove, a warm solution of vinegar and water will soak it off, then buff with a soft cloth. That is a spur-of-the-moment, nobody-can-go-to-the-store answer. It will take a little work. One thing you don’t want to try is chlorine bleach- that will turn it black, which sometimes is desirable on an engraved piece you want a lot of contrast to show the design on. You’d have to buff the high part though.

Q: does all silver jewelry have 925 on it?- bought a necklace and it has no hallmarks!?
ok, so i bought a necklace off ebay (i know i shouldnt have, lol. but its no real loss as i got it cheap)
the necklace looks quite old and the person i bought it from is just a person doing a house sale on the internet, not running some big ebay shop selling many of these necklaces.
it said it was real silver (its a silver bird, a bit like a humming bird, on a long chain, its wing opens to reveal a watch, which is working)
the problem is i got it and it doesnt have 925 on it which is what id expect wih a piece of silver. does that mean its fake? or does silver jewelry not ALWAYS have hallmarks on them?

A: By law, precious metal jewelry pieces need to be stamped/marked to identify the precious metal (silver for example) and the maker. It is possible that your necklace is not sterling silver. However, it is also possible that the maker didn’t stamp it (some artisans don’t bother to stamp their work), or that it had a 925 tag attached to it that had fallen during the year.
If you want to be sure about your necklace, take it to a nearby jewelry for evaluation.
