Q: Which Queen wore a massive, multi-string pearl necklace (with choker)? Does anyone have this image/picture?
I have a memory of seeing a picture (photo?) of one of the queens of England (I assume it was a queen of England) that showed her wearing a multi-strand pearl necklace(s) that started as a choker and continued down to cover most of her chest. I think it had a broach in the middle causing the effect to be that of a rounded “w” on her chest. It had to be made up of dozens of strands of pearls but I’m not sure.

If anyone has a link to an image of it they can provide and/or knows which queen wore it, I’d be much appreciative.

A week or two ago I went to the outlet mall and I went into Aldo. I didn’t have money to buy it then, but I saw a BEAUTIFUL necklace there!! It’s supposed to have a matching bracelet, but they just took that off the site, too.. =(

I think its classic, maybe Jacky o mixed with upper-east-sider. pearls are best shown off, so out front and center
of course i don’t know how it looks on but from my view the pants look a little high
maybe lower since your age? if that’s not the case, and you end up thinking you look a little too mature, try distressed jeans with the outfit (i would stay with a dark wash).

Most of these things are just similar to what I have (like the jewelry). A lot of the jewelry I made myself, and are in lime green and light blue, not silver and black, but they are very similar styled to the ones in the link. Also, the shoes are in black and white, rather than red and black.

Q: Advice for a multi-era party outfit!?
My aunt planned an awesome over the hill b-day party for my uncle and deemed it a generational party! We are required to dress up (fun!) and we can choose are 50’s, 60’s or 70’s. I have options from all 3. I dont want to do a gogo because alot of girls are, and i dont want to be a hippie for the same reason. Here are my options:

50’s – mini poodle skirt, sweater, bobby socks and mary janes.
Reason to wear it: Its cute and so fun!
Reasons not too: I wore it for halloween last year and its kinda cheating.

60’s- original, adorable dress made by my late grandma. Worn by my aunts. Will be worn with flats, white gloves and a pearl necklace.
Reasons to wear it: Family heirloom!
Reasons not too: kinda frumpy, doesn’t really say “party!”

70’s- My moms dress from 79. Turqoise, polyester and long evening wear. gorgeous! Feathered hair, hoops and bangles.
Reasons to wear it: Fabulous!
Reasons not too: no reason! it fits perfectly! But the others are great too.

Can anyone give me some advice please on how to KEEP up with the trends and be one of the FIRST instead of the last?

For example, I saved all this money 2 buy a louis vuitton multi-color pochette, and now there out. I bought a bunch of lip gloss and now people arent wearing it as much. I got uggs, juicy jackets, etc and now people arent wearing theem as much. I bought a pearl necklace and braclet yet pearls also seem 2 be out.

I’m not saying NO ONE wears this stuff but its not as hot as it was a few years even a year ago, yet i didnt have the $ at the time 2 buy it.

So what my main ?’s are is-how can i be on top of trends rather then the last 2 have everything. also, what are some items(clothes,makeup,purses,shoes,etc) that will NOT go out of style?

A: wear what you love! dont wear it because its ‘in style’! find and create a personal style. What i like to do is keep the trends that go out because they usually come back in!!! i find that if you only really buy one “trendy” item per year, you still look in style but you dont blow all your cash! hope i helped.
